A large fire has broken out in Plymouth on Thursday, March 27, near a Morrisons store. The fire is believed to be at Saltram Meadow, off Billacombe Road in Plymstock. The fire has caused thick black smoke to fill the sky, visible for miles around. Witnesses reported seeing large clouds of smoke, with some stating the smoke appeared to be coming from the Plympton area.

Multiple witnesses shared their observations with PlymouthLive, describing the smoke as thick and smelly. One individual said, 'Massive amount of smoke that seems to be coming from Plympton area.' Another person mentioned, 'Loads of thick smelly black smoke looking from Dunstone, Plymstock, over towards the green. Large black billows.' A third witness reported, 'Fire at Saltram Meadow. Fire brigade at scene.'

Smoke has been seen across the city, and one individual on Vauxhall Street, at the Barbican, shared a picture of the smoke in the sky. Firefighters are on the scene, working to contain the blaze.
