Investigators have renewed their appeal for information regarding a targeted assault in Lipson, which has now been confirmed to involve the use of acid against the victim.

Officers responded to a property on Lipson Road at approximately 3:55 AM on Friday, February 21, following reports of a disturbance. According to reports, two suspects forced entry into the property and assaulted the occupant.

The victim sustained serious injuries and remains hospitalized. It is believed that he has since been relocated outside the city, although the police have not confirmed this due to the sensitivity of their inquiries.

A police spokesperson stated: “It has been confirmed that acid was used during the attack to inflict the injuries.”

Detective Chief Inspector Lee Nattrass reiterated his earlier statement, emphasizing: “We are treating this as a targeted attack, and there is no wider threat to the community.

“Residents may have noticed an increased police presence on Lipson Road as we continue our investigation. Our inquiries remain ongoing.”
